Youth Group Overview

All parish high school teens are welcome to participate in the Youth Group and any of its activities. Parents and other adults serve as mentors and chaperones. Regular monthly meetings at 9:45 a.m. between the Sunday Masses facilitate the planning and publishing of the many service, fundraising and social activities.

Service includes sandwich ministry, Empty Bowls, Vincent Family Resource Center, liturgical ministry, St. Ben's Meal Program, Afghans for Appalachia, and mission trips locally through Reach Out/Reach In, nationally through our Appalachia Mission Trip and internationally through Global Youth Mission.

Fundraising to support these many projects include the Pancake Breakfast, flower bulb sale, Spaghetti Dinner, bake sales, Edwardo Pizza sale, Butter Braid sale and car wash. Although everyone has plenty of fun working together, teens have also enjoyed coed volleyball, caroling, bowling, skiing, and boys' basketball. Only the energy and enthusiasm of the volunteers limit the activities available.

In accord with archdiocesan policy all adults working with children and youth are required to:
  • Attend a Safeguarding All God's Family session (formerly known as VIRTUS),
  • Have a background check every five years, and
  • Submit a signed acknowledgement of reading the ethics document.
