I'm new here. What can I expect? The members, friends and staff of St. Eugene look forward to welcoming you into this community of faith. We invite you to join us for any of the worship services or classes we offer as a way to get to know us better as you seek your place in a community of faith. All are welcome to join us in worship and classes as we come from diverse backgrounds seeking lives of greater balance and spiritual growth. When you arrive at St. Eugene Congregation, located at 7600 N. Port Washington Road, in the Northshore, we would invite you to park in our west parking lot which services the church, school and rectory. Additional parking is available east of the church on Calumet Road. Handicap Parking is available in both parking lots. However, the east entrance to the church does requires climbing about seven stairs. As you enter our church through the West or East Entrances on Sunday morning, you will be greeted by members of our hospitality team. As you enter, an usher will give you a copy of the bulletin and announcements for the week. The bulletin will provide the weekly Masses, times and Intentions and a variety of information about upcoming events and ministry opportunities. These greeters are available to answer your questions and help you find your way in our church. Our church is equipped with hearing devices, so please ask one of these ushers if you need them. You will also find plenty of people sharing conversations in the Narthex before worship begins and you are welcome to ask for help from anyone you see. Our Chapel is located on the main level, to the right of the West Entrance. For weekend Masses, the Chapel, which is equipped with a sound system linked directly to the church audio system, is commonly used by families with small children. Every Tuesday, from 8:30am to 4pm, you are able to participate in Eucharistic Adoration in the Chapel. Also, the Chapel is where you will find the vigil candles. These are lit by parishioners in remembrance of departed loved ones or for prayers. Feel free to find a place to sit where you will feel comfortable or ask an usher to seat you. As the music plays, we invite you into a time of reflection as we prepare ourselves for worship. More information about our worship services can be found on the worship page. Joining us for coffee and treats between the worship services from 9:30am - 10:00am in the Narthex is a great way to meet new people and find out more about our community. We know that the church is an important institution in the lives of many, especially at significant transition points in life. If you are interested in having a wedding at St. Eugene, please contact either Fr. Jerry Herda or Fr. Paul Fliss six months before your wedding date. If you would like to learn more about having a baptism at St. Eugene, please contact Andre Lesperance. When you decide to join our parish, please contact Kathy Neidert to set up an appointment or registration is available one weekend a month after a designated Mass. |
